Adolescent Psychiatric Unit (APU) - Interior Health

Specialized inpatient program for youth ages 12-17 with significant psychiatric symptoms like psychosis, mood disorders, or severe anxiety that need extended assessment and treatment. 8-bed unit, stays range from 10 days to several weeks. Team includes nurses, counsellors, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, teachers, and psychiatrists. 📋 How to apply: Referral only — not direct admission. Download the APU Intake Referral Form from the Interior Health website. Not suitable for youth whose primary issue is behaviour disorders, substance abuse, developmental delay, or eating disorders. Must reside in the Interior Health region.
