Free, voluntary mental health services for children and youth (ages 0-18) and their families, from the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). ▸ How to start: Go to the CYMH Kelowna intake clinic at 1340 Ellis Street on Tuesday, 9-11 AM or 1-3 PM. Call 778-699-2272 first to confirm times. The intake interview takes about 45 to 90 minutes. ▸ Good to know: • Youth 13 and older are encouraged to come with a parent or caregiver, but can come on their own. • Staff may need to talk to parents privately, so young children may need someone else to watch them. ▸ Services include: Screening and intake, short-term early help, assessment, and individual, family or group therapy. Staff include clinicians, psychologists and psychiatrists. ▸ West Kelowna: CYMH West Kelowna is at 15-2484 Main Street (250-707-2732).
