A City of Kelowna designated outdoor sheltering site at Richter Street and the Okanagan Rail Trail. It is a temporary place to shelter outdoors until space in a shelter, complex care, or rapid safety net housing opens up — it is not an indoor shelter. ▸ 24-hour spots: 60 spots for people who are working to become housing-ready and following the site guidelines. On-site: 24/7 security staff, secure entry and exit, running water, garbage pick-up and sanitation, portable toilets, sharps disposal boxes and storage for items that don't fit in your space. ▸ Overnight-only spots (5:00 PM – 9:00 AM): a secure space, 24/7 security monitoring, portable toilets and bottled water. ▸ Support for everyone at the site: breakfast and dinner, access to medical care, and appointments with outreach partners who help with case management. ▸ Nearby in the daytime: hygiene services, drinking water and storage for belongings at the Metro Community Drop-In. ▸ Contact the City: SocialWellness@kelowna.ca.
