Cornerstone Shelter

Cornerstone Shelter is a 24/7 emergency shelter operated by the John Howard Society of Okanagan & Kootenay, serving adults 19+ who are experiencing homelessness in Kelowna. The shelter is open around the clock with no set wake-up time, no curfew, and no requirement to leave during the day. Couples and individuals with pets are welcome. Services include hot lunch and dinner, showers, laundry facilities, clothing and shoe vouchers, harm reduction supplies, overdose prevention services, and referrals to detox and medical care. Staff provide support with life skills, housing searches, and individual advocacy. Minimal storage is available for personal belongings. New arrivals complete an intake process that outlines mutual expectations. Minors are referred to youth shelters. Text (250) 317-6678 for the fastest response — calls may take up to 5 days to be returned. You can also email cornerstone@jhsok.ca or visit jhsok.ca for more information.
