If you can't afford the school bus fee in Central Okanagan Public Schools (SD23), you can ask for part or all of it to be waived. The same form also covers some school fees. ▸ What does the bus cost? For 2026–2027, the yearly fee per student is: • First and second child: $550 each • Third and fourth child: $275 each • Fifth child and up: no extra cost (a family of 4 or more pays $1,650 total) Fees are pro-rated if your child needs the bus for only part of the year. ▸ Who can get this? You can apply in one of two ways: • Exceptional circumstances: your school principal approves and signs your form (Section B). • Low income: your household income before tax (line 23600) is under the limits on the form (Section C). ▸ Income limits for 2026–2027 (Section C) Full (100%) waiver if your household income is under: • 2 people: $33,519 · 3 people: $41,208 · 4 people: $50,032 • 5 people: $56,744 · 6 people: $64,000 · 7 or more: $71,254 Half (50%) waiver if it is up to: • 2 people: $40,222 · 3 people: $49,450 · 4 people: $60,038 • 5 people: $68,092 · 6 people: $76,800 · 7 or more: $85,504 ▸ How to apply 1. Fill out Section A of the subsidy form. 2. For Section B, meet your principal. The school sends the form for you once it is signed. 3. For Section C, attach the Proof of Income Statement for every parent or guardian. 4. Email the form to subsidy@sd23.bc.ca, or mail it to Subsidy Processing. ▸ What you need • The subsidy form • For Section C: your most recent Proof of Income Statement from the Canada Revenue Agency (free from CRA My Account or by mail) ▸ Good to know • You must reapply every school year. • They aim to answer within 2 weeks. • You still need to apply separately for a bus seat. A subsidy does not guarantee one. • "School Fee" means only the School Fee, Student Activity Fee or Cultural Fee. • Last year's bus fees must be paid before your child can get a seat. If mailing, mark the envelope "CONFIDENTIAL". • Mail to: Subsidy Processing, 1040 Hollywood Road South, Kelowna, BC V1X 4N2.
