If you are a mother, expecting mother, papa or caregiver with a low income, a social worker can help you one-on-one. Together you find what is in the way, and get basics your children need. ▸ Who can get this? • Low-income or struggling mamas, papas and caregivers • Families facing homelessness, abuse or violence • Families who can't afford food, clothing, shoes or hygiene products ▸ What you get • Free items from the Karma Market, like diapers, wipes, cribs, highchairs and car seats • Help finding community resources • Referrals to counselling, groups and the Family Court Support Program • Some money for dental pain or infection, and for children's hearing needs • After-hours appointments, or a no-contact hamper delivery ▸ How to apply 1. Fill out the Support Application online. Choose the Kelowna branch. 2. A resource coordinator contacts you within 48 hours. 3. Agencies can also refer you. ▸ What you need • Your ID • ID for your children (birth certificate, care card or student ID). Tell them if you don't have it. ▸ Good to know • Kelowna Karma Market hours: Tuesday to Thursday, 10 to 4. • Submit the form only once.
