The First Link® Dementia Helpline is for anyone affected by dementia, personally or through their work. Every call is confidential. Calling the helpline has all the benefits of a referral from your health-care provider. ▸ You can learn about: • General information about dementia • Getting a diagnosis • How the disease changes over time, including communication and behaviour • Personal planning and staying independent • Giving care and support • Resources in your community, like support groups and education workshops ▸ Call 1-800-936-6033 (toll-free), Monday to Friday: • English: 9 AM – 8 PM • Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Cantonese and Mandarin: 9 AM – 4 PM Run by the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon.
