Categories: Emergency Services & Reporting
If you have been evacuated by a fire, flood or other disaster, Emergency Support Services (ESS) can give short-term basic help, like a place to stay, food, clothing and other temporary supports. ▸ If you have home or tenant's insurance, contact your insurance provider first. Most cover living expenses during evacuations. ▸ No insurance, or need help with basic needs? Create a profile with the Evacuee Registration and Assistance (ERA) tool at ess.gov.bc.ca. ▸ After you make a profile, you get instructions on how to get supports, if you are eligible. You can get support online, by phone, or in person at a reception centre. ▸ BC Evacuee Helpline: 1-800-387-4258, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Call for help with your ERA profile or Service BC sign-in.
