Report a wildfire, or careless behaviour that could start one, anywhere in BC. Call as soon as you can. ▸ Call 1-800-663-5555, or *5555 from a cell phone. BC Wildfire Service staff at the Provincial Wildfire Reporting Centre answer all calls. ▸ If you can, take a picture of the fire and send it using the free BC Wildfire Service app (App Store and Google Play). When you call, they may ask: • Where is the fire? (closest intersection, how far up the hillside) • How big is it? (metres, hectares, the size of a house or a football field) • How fast is it spreading? • What is burning? (grass, bushes, trees) • What colour is the smoke? Can you see flames? • Are people or buildings at risk? • Is anyone fighting the fire? • If it is a campfire: is it wood-burning or propane? Any information helps.
