Helps keep Métis children and families safe and well. A Family Preservation worker speaks up for your family and connects you to the right services. They also support you through family court and at meetings with other professionals. ▸ What you get • Support for families affected by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) • A worker who goes with you to MCFD meetings, mediations, Family Court, Trial Court, case planning conferences, family group conferences and family decision-making circles • Help making sure family visits happen regularly • Support at the Child Advocacy Centre • Help getting to a protective shelter for women, when needed • Women's Sharing Circle (every 3rd Thursday), help with systems, and follow-up support ▸ How to get this A parent or guardian, family doctor, community worker or agency, school staff, or a correctional facility can refer you.
