A paid, four-week training program for jobs in energy-efficient home building and repair. FortisBC pays you a wage while you train. You don't need any experience. ▸ Who can apply? • You are 18 or older. • You are interested in the trades and in energy-efficiency work. • You like working with customers and have a "can do" attitude. ▸ What you learn: • Basic building skills • Draftproofing, caulking, adding insulation and putting in water-saving devices • Trade math and getting ready for work • Safety training and certificates, such as First Aid, Fall Protection, WHMIS and Construction Safety Training Systems • Up to two weeks working on a job site with building professionals ▸ After you finish: • A coordinator helps you look for steady work for up to three months.
