▸ What it is The Burtches is a 90-unit apartment building owned and run by Orchard Valley Senior Housing Society since 1988. It has renovated, 600 sq ft one-bedroom independent living apartments. Electricity (heat and lights) is included. Suites have a stove, fridge and wall air conditioner. Underground parking is available for a monthly fee. There is coin laundry on each floor. The building is on the bus route. ▸ Who can apply Anyone over 55, or people with a disability who need affordable housing. If you are offered a suite, you will be asked for proof of income, such as your latest income tax return or notice of assessment. ▸ How to apply 1. Download the application form from the website. 2. Tenants may be chosen based on need, not on when they applied. Very few suites open each year, and there are often over 200 applications. 3.
