Emergency Care is a safe, supportive short-term placement (about 30 days) for a person who cannot live safely with their family, or who has no other care arrangement available. During this time, the GreenTree team gets to know the person, their strengths, needs and wishes. The goal is to help them return home or find the best-fit place to live. For children and youth, it gives time to plan with their support team and look at family or community care options. ▸ Who it's for: Any BC resident with diversabilities may be eligible. GreenTree specializes in complex medical needs and the move from youth to adulthood. ▸ How to access: Contact your local social services office and speak with an intake social worker (MCFD or CLBC). Services usually have no cost to you with a referral from your social worker. Wait times apply, and a contract with MCFD and/or CLBC must be in place before services start. ▸ Contact: • Phone: 250-864-6190 • Email: inquiries@greentreeprograms.ca • Office: 1338-2 Montenegro Drive, Kelowna, BC V1P 1R3
