If you have been sexually assaulted, you can get medical and forensic care through the Kelowna General Hospital Emergency Department (open 24 hours). You do not need to report to police to get SAFE care. ▸ If you are in immediate danger, call 911. ▸ Your choices: medical care only; or medical care plus a forensic exam with evidence sent to police; or, at some sites, medical care plus a forensic exam with evidence stored for one year. If your choice isn't offered locally, transport can be arranged. ▸ A forensic exam can be done if it has been seven days or less since the assault.
