Short-term loans of health equipment on a donation basis, for people with injury, illness or mobility issues, people going home from hospital, and people in palliative care at home. ▸ What you can borrow • Wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches • Bath boards, bath chairs, transfer benches, tub grab bars • Commodes, raised toilet seats, toilet safety frames • Bed assist handles, bed cradles, IV poles ▸ What you need • A referral from a physician, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, chiropractor, registered nurse or licensed practical nurse (dietitian for IV poles only). • Hospital beds, specialty mattresses and patient lifts need a referral through your Health Authority Home Health office. ▸ Kelowna depot • 124 Adams Road, Kelowna • Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (closed stat holidays and long weekends) • Phone: 250-765-3465 · Fax: 250-765-3158 • Please call ahead to be sure the depot is open.
