A home-like hospice in Kelowna, part of Interior Health's Hospice Palliative Care Program. Palliative care is provided around the clock. ▸ Why people stay • End of life care • Respite: a two-week booked stay when a caregiver can't provide care at home • Pain and symptom care, when symptoms are too complex to manage at home ▸ What it's like • Private rooms, gardens, a living room and serenity room • Medical and nursing care, plus emotional and spiritual support from professionals and volunteers • No set visiting hours. Families are welcome. ▸ Who can stay • Adults 19 and older with a life-limiting illness • You must be registered with the Central Okanagan Hospice Palliative Care Program and have a family doctor or nurse practitioner who will oversee your care. ▸ How to access • Talk to your doctor or health care professional. They support the admission request. • Or call Hospice House and ask for the Clinical Nurse Coordinator: 250-862-4126. ▸ Cost and stay • There is a daily rate. A Temporary Rate Reduction is available if paying would cause serious hardship. • There is often a waitlist. Stays are short-term, up to 90 days.
