Extra support so your young child can be included in a community childcare or early learning program. ▸ Who it's for Children from birth to school entry who need extra support in childcare. You need a completed Support Guide and evidence of a developmental delay or disability (physical, thinking, communication, or social, emotional or behaviour). Your child must live in the Central Okanagan (Peachland to Oyama). ▸ What you can get • Help finding a childcare setting • Staff who check how your child is doing and help with inclusion • Planning with you, childcare staff and other team members • Extra supports, such as child-specific training, extra staffing, training for childcare staff, and lending of equipment and resources Childcare settings can include group daycare, preschool and family daycare homes. ▸ How to get it Anyone can refer a child if the legal guardian gives permission.
