Limited, temporary health care coverage for refugees and protected persons in Canada, until you can get provincial or territorial health insurance. Basic coverage is free. You pay your provider $4 for each eligible prescription you fill or refill. For supplemental benefits, like urgent dental care and vision care, the program pays 70% and you pay 30% directly to your provider. You can create an account in the IFHP portal to find out if you're covered.
