If you live with a neuromuscular disorder, Muscular Dystrophy Canada may help pay for equipment you need for mobility and safety. ▸ What they may fund (depends on where you live): • Ramps, stair lifts, door openers • Commodes, shower chairs, transfer benches • Hospital beds, pressure-relief mattresses • Ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines • Power wheelchairs, scooters, transfer slings • Repairs, changes, and short-term rentals ▸ Good to know: • You must first register as a Muscular Dystrophy Canada client. • Equipment under $200 is not funded. • They usually don't pay for equipment you can get free elsewhere. • They can't pay you back. Get approval before you buy. ▸ How to apply: 1. Register as a client (1-800-567-2873, registration@muscle.ca). 2. Fill out the application form. 3. Send quotes from two vendors. 4. Send a signed prescription from a licensed health professional (for example an occupational therapist or physiotherapist). ▸ Equipment team: application@muscle.ca, 1-800-567-2873 ext. 1201
