The Community Futures Self Employment Program helps you start a business or buy an existing one. It includes help writing a business plan, business skills workshops, one-on-one mentoring and business counselling. If you qualify for Employment Insurance or Reachback, you may also get income support while you plan and launch your business. ▸ How to get started • Check if you are eligible (EI, Reachback or disability) at a local WorkBC Employment Services Centre. A WorkBC counsellor can refer you to a Self-Employment Orientation Session. • You must attend the Opportunity Readiness workshop first. • If you are not eligible through WorkBC, you can take the Business Plan Development Program for a fee.
