If you were discriminated against in BC — at work, in housing, in a service, or in a publication — you can make a human rights complaint to the BC Human Rights Tribunal. Discrimination must be based on a personal characteristic protected by the BC Human Rights Code, like race, disability, gender identity or expression, sex, sexual orientation, religion or age. ▸ Good to know • Filing a complaint is free. • There is a one-year time limit. The Tribunal may allow a late complaint in some cases. • You cannot start a complaint by phone.
