BWSS offers immediate, short-term help to survivors of violence in intimate relationships, childhood sexual abuse and adult sexual assault. The crisis line is staffed by trained workers. ▸ Crisis line workers can help with: • Emotional support and community resources • Recognizing abuse • Safety planning • Advocacy • Information about police and the criminal law system • Legal options, including protection orders • Referrals to transition houses, lawyers, medical services and community support • Specific support for Non-Status, Immigrant and Refugee survivors, and for Indigenous survivors BWSS also has a program for LGBTQ2S and non-binary survivors of violence. ▸ Call toll-free 1-855-687-1868 or 604-687-1867.
